👀 What you’ll leave with

By the end of this you’ll have:

✅ A way to spot the handoffs hiding inside your day-to-day work

✅ A simple rule for who owns the baton until the next person is ready

✅ A clearer idea of what context actually needs to move with the work

✅ A downloadable worksheet to audit and redesign one of your own handoffs

Before we get into the template...

A lot of handoffs do not look like handoffs. They look like someone saying, “Can you send that over?” or “I told her in Slack,” or “CS should have that.”

It is a deal changing stages in HubSpot. Product makes a decision that creates work for Engineering. One person goes on vacation, and everyone realizes they were manually connecting three departments without anyone noticing.

If you are the operator or glue person, these can be especially hard to see because you are often the one filling the gaps. You chase the missing context, remind someone to update the CRM, tell Customer Success what Sales promised, and make sure the client does not have to repeat themselves.

After a while, that starts to feel normal. (Exhausting, but still, normal.)

That is usually when I start paying attention.
